“Neotectonics of Myth” is the latest OVAL collection of rings, earrings, bracelets and brooches made in gold and silver to be unveiled in London in the ‘Found Lost Found’ exhibition, curated by David Sandu Jewelry, as part of ‘Fashion Utopias’, the British Council and British Fashion Council’s International Fashion Showcase 2016 in association with London Fashion Week.

“Neotectonics of Myth” by OVAL:

"Although extrovert in shape and structure, the collection performs a silent meditation by rejecting any trace of idealism about history.
Strata after strata peeled off from the legendary mountain, the core translated into jewelry pulsating energies hidden for centuries.
Once the vein of any piece of gold, bronze or copper, the internal dialogue with nature is now imperceptible as every surface has been eroded and re-imagined, re-shaped and polished into abstract.
When nature is just a myth that draws the neotectonics."

The showcase is happening as part of the Fashion Utopias program at:

Somerset House
19 – 23 February 2016
Daily 10.00-18.00 (last entry 17.15)
West Wing Galleries, West Wing
Admission is free but pre-registration advised: https://billetto.co.uk/fashion-utopias-international-fashion-showcase-2016

RICH MEDINA & GE-OLOGY in OntFront

www.ontfront.com

Amsterdam menswear brand OntFront is honored to present the second photo project with Philadelphia Renaissance man Rich Medina. In this photo shoot OntFront shows their latest collection.

In this season's edition, Rich asked if he could bring a friend in to join the shoot. That friend happened to be the very talented gentleman Ge-ology.

Ge-ology is known for his understated, yet refined style which connects street to classic sensibilities. Ge-ology, since the 80s, carved his own lane through the world as a well-respected visual artist, music producer and DJ.

It goes without saying that OntFront, Medina and Ge-ology have a deep love for menswear and craftsmanship, as evidenced in their respective styles and career choices. Medina has been a quintessential maverick in the entertainment business for quite a long time. He has always functioned as an independent, self made man as DJ, producer and poet.

This project represents the mixture of subculture, music and style. With these images OntFront strives to show off their authentic street savvy style to a broader audience.

DOMINGO RODRIGUEZ SS16

domingorodriguez.co.uk

For SS16 Domingo Rodriguez presents his menswear collection, a simplistic combination of masculine and feminine details.

Signature design aesthetics of a modern take on minimalism and luxury craftsmanship continue within the SS16 collection. Razor sharp pattern cutting of deceptively simple techniques create a clean, modern look.

The collection offers classic monochromatic colourways in a variety of new textures and finishes, providing a directional yet relaxed everyday look. This season is a play on masculine and feminine ideals by taking menswear staples such as the denim jacket, parka, tailored blazer and in floaty fabrications such as silk georgette and crepes, which skim the body highlighting the silhouette.

There is a sense of delicacy and softness to the collection, showcased with the sheer silk black button up shirt, which is balanced with the structure and hardware of the collection, shown with the custom summer weight leather jacket. There is also a sports mentality in the finishing of the collection with elasticated hems, button off hoods and metal hardware to create a balance to the softness of the feminine fabrics.

The core structure of Domingo Rodriguez continues to emphasize the quality that goes into the construction of each piece. The minimally cut fabric and double layered hems create a high fashion and high quality finish. The pattern cutting technique creates a sleek modern look with a seamless luxury finish.
